Fox has formally completed its acquisition of Roku and is restructuring its senior executive ranks to reflect the new corporate identity. The company has announced that its digital businesses will now operate under a unified umbrella known as FOX Digital Platforms, replacing the previous Tubi Media Group designation. This significant shift aims to consolidate Fox's premium live sports, news, and streaming assets with Roku's connected television infrastructure.
The restructuring was detailed in a memo sent to staff on Friday by Anthony Wood and Paul Cheesebrough. The announcement highlighted a wave of high-profile departures and promotions designed to streamline operations and set a strategic direction for the combined entity. Notably, Charlie Collier, who served as the president of media at Roku, is exiting the company. Additionally, Anjali Sud, the president of Tubi, is leaving to pursue a new opportunity outside of Fox, though she is expected to assist during the transition period.
Mustafa Ozgen has been elevated to the role of CEO of Roku. He previously helped expand the platform to reach over 100 million households. In his new capacity, Ozgen will continue to oversee the device, product, and technology organizations while expanding his scope to include AdRise advertising products, the Roku Channel, streaming services partnerships, and Roku subscriptions.
Pete Distad, the current CEO of Fox Direct-to-Consumer, will take on a broader portfolio that includes Tubi and Roku's Frndly TV. Distad has previously developed and grown the FOX One consumer offering. By bringing free and subscription services under one leadership structure, Fox intends to create smarter bundles and better connect audiences across its various platforms.
To lead Tubi under the new structure, Mike Bidgoli has been promoted to president. An early investor in the platform, Bidgoli has previously led product and engineering teams with a focus on innovation. The entire Tubi leadership team will now report directly to him. Meanwhile, Andy Karofsky, the co-founder and CEO of Frndly TV, will also join Distad's group, bringing his team into the Fox fold.
Content strategy will also see significant changes. Lisa Holme, head of content for The Roku Channel, will report to Distad. She will work closely with Adam Lewinson and the Tubi content team to coordinate programming investments and strengthen the company's competitive position in the free streaming market. This collaboration is intended to help Fox compete more effectively for viewer attention.
In the technology division, Melody Hildebrandt will remain as Chief Technology Officer, leading IT, cybersecurity, and cloud infrastructure governance while coordinating AI adoption across Fox. Jeff Dow, the executive vice president of platform and media technology, is set to retire at the end of the fiscal year. The Tempe broadcast and distribution facility will move under Hildebrandt's organization.
Advertising sales across the portfolio will continue to report to Jeff Collins, president of advertising sales at Fox. Gil Fuchsberg will serve as Chief Strategy Officer, reporting to both Wood and Cheesebrough. He will lead group strategy and oversee major retailer and OEM deals. Supporting the group will be Andy Croxson as CFO, Pooja Dalal as SVP of HR, Angie Park as EVP and General Counsel, and Seana Sullivan as SVP of Corporate Communications.
Two other leaders are departing as part of this restructuring. Chris Handman, senior vice president and general counsel at Roku, and Robyn Peterson, executive vice president of AdRise, are both exiting the company. Fox expressed gratitude for their contributions, noting that Peterson helped unify ad inventory and measurement across the portfolio, while Handman was instrumental in Roku's legal success.
The company plans to host town hall meetings in the coming week to discuss the new strategy and answer employee questions. These events will take place in San Jose and San Francisco on Monday, at the Fox Lot and in Santa Monica on Tuesday, in Austin on Wednesday, and in New York on Thursday, with international offices to follow.
