Jay-Z will perform at the Super Bowl LXI halftime show on February 14, 2027, the NFL and Apple Music announced on Monday. The event will be held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Roc Nation, Jay-Z's management company, has produced the halftime entertainment since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year contract extension that keeps them in the role through 2029. Under their direction, the shows have shifted toward hip-hop and rap acts.
Last year's performance at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, featured Bad Bunny alongside Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. The 2025 show highlighted Kendrick Lamar and SZA, while Usher performed in 2024 and Rihanna headlined in 2023.
Los Angeles last hosted the halftime show in 2022. That lineup included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, with cameos from 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak.
Jay-Z has not previously played at the Super Bowl despite his ties to the league and past performers. The 25-time Grammy winner is currently on a tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.
The Jay-Z 30 Tour began with three nights at Yankee Stadium in July. He then performed two shows in London and one in Paris in September. His final scheduled dates took place on October 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium, the same venue where he will perform next year.
