Hilary Rosen has assumed the role of chair at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, succeeding Sara Putt. Putt departs following a three-year tenure, while Rosen steps up from her position as deputy to lead the organization's efforts in promoting film, games, and television talent.
Rosen has served on the BAFTA Television Committee since 2021 and later held its chairmanship. During that time, she helped shape the TV and Craft Awards and managed their juries. She currently directs commissioning at UKTV, where she oversees original scripted and unscripted content.
Ade Rawcliffe and Andrew Miller will serve as deputy chairs for the Academy. Both individuals have been appointed to two-year terms to support the new leadership structure.
The Board of Trustees has also undergone changes. Charu Desodt and Caroline Levy have been named the new chairs for the Games and Television Committees, respectively. Nahrein Kemp will lead the LIT Committee. Shrina Shah, who chairs the governance and appointments committee, will join the board.
Rosen described the new position as a great privilege. She stated she is delighted to work with the newly appointed committee chairs and the board, calling them outstanding industry leaders.
The changes follow a thorough election process. Rosen expressed confidence that the collective passion and insight of the new board will continue the impactful work established by previous leadership.
