Savannah Guthrie posted a new public appeal on Sunday for information regarding the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84.
The 'Today' host wrote on Instagram that the family wants to celebrate their mother and give her the dignity she deserves. She included a childhood drawing made by her own daughter. The sketch shows an umbrella in the rain with the caption: 'I know it might not seem like it but I really need my mommy.'
Nancy Guthrie vanished from her Tucson-area home on Feb. 1. It has been nine months since she was last seen. Local and federal law enforcement agencies have not identified a suspect or a person of interest.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department traveled to Florida on Friday. Investigators met with scientists to advance DNA analysis in the case. The department continues to seek tips from the public.
The Guthrie family is offering $1 million for information leading to Nancy Guthrie's recovery. The 88-CRIME hotline offers an additional $102,500 reward. The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to her location or the conviction of those responsible.
Citizens can call 88-CRIME at 520-882-7463. The FBI can be reached at 1-800-225-5324 or its Phoenix Field Office at 623-466-1999. Tips are also accepted online at tips.fbi.gov.
