Gal Gadot voted in the Israeli Knesset election on Tuesday morning, joining a large contingent of citizens residing abroad. She shared video footage on her Instagram story showing herself entering a standard polling station in Israel. In the clip, she picked up an envelope and walked into the voting booth.
An estimated 70,000 Israelis living overseas returned to the country to participate in the vote. Gadot spoke in Hebrew while recording the video. She told her followers that she was exercising her right to vote and asked them to do the same.
“That’s it. I’m exercising my right to vote, and I’m asking you all to go out and exercise your most basic, most important right, the most democratic right you have, to vote for whoever you believe in,” Gadot said. She expressed hope for a “double blessing” for the results, citing the Hebrew expression pa’amim ki tov.
The actress added that she hoped for good outcomes for all with God’s help. She blew a kiss to the camera at the end of the video. A subsequent photo showed her placing the sealed envelope into the ballot box.
Gadot is scheduled to appear on the comedy show Eretz Nehederet on Tuesday night after the polls close. She lives primarily in Los Angeles with her husband, Jaron Varsano, and their four daughters. However, she is originally from Rosh HaAyin.
She was in Israel on Monday to receive an honorary doctorate from Bar Ilan University. The award was part of a gala celebrating the university’s 70th anniversary. US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff also received an honorary doctorate during the event. As she accepted the award, Gadot stated that Israel remains her home despite her international career. She noted that antisemitism continues to affect Jewish communities globally.
Gadot described the upcoming election as potentially the most momentous the country has seen in years. She urged voters to show up with a sense of responsibility for the people who call Israel home. She is currently starring in the thriller The Runner on Prime Video and will appear in the next Fast and Furious film, Fast Forever.
