The Baltimore Ravens lost both of their starting quarterbacks in the first half, yet their season-ending injury to Lamar Jackson proved the most consequential loss of a 36-10 defeat to the Buffalo Bills. Jackson hurt the thumb on his right hand during the first snap from scrimmage and was placed on injured reserve by coach Jesse Minter. The head coach confirmed Jackson will undergo surgery, effectively ending his 2026 campaign.

Buffalo overcame a sloppy start to secure its ninth 6-1 opening in franchise history. Josh Allen finished 21 of 34 passes for 289 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for a score, marking his 102nd career win and moving ahead of Tom Brady for third most wins through a player's first nine seasons. The Bills' defense limited Baltimore to 144 total yards and forced three turnovers, a marked improvement for a unit that had allowed 29 or more points in five of its previous six games.

The game turned on a 26-yard field goal by Baltimore kicker Tyler Loop to open the second half, which cut Buffalo's lead to 16-10. After that, Buffalo scored touchdowns on three of its next four drives. Dalton Kincaid caught a 23-yard pass and D.J. Moore hauled in an 11-yarder in consecutive fourth-quarter possessions. James Cook added a 5-yard rushing touchdown.

Baltimore's offense stalled after Jackson's exit. Backup Tyler Huntley entered the game and suffered a toe injury while being sacked and fumbling during the fourth series. Emergency quarterback Joe Fagnano, an undrafted rookie from Connecticut, finished the game. He completed 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards and threw an interception in his NFL debut. Derrick Henry scored Baltimore's only touchdown on a 2-yard run, tying Marshall Faulk for fourth on the all-time list for touchdowns from scrimmage.

The contest was marred by errors on both sides. There were five total turnovers, with Baltimore accounting for three. Loop missed a 34-yard field goal attempt, and Henry's rushing touchdown was initially negated by a holding penalty. The Bills were penalized 10 times for 87 yards. Buffalo's Tyler Bass converted all three field goal attempts, including a 56-yarder, extending his streak to 21 consecutive makes and shattering the franchise record of 18 set by Rian Lindell in 2007.

Baltimore hosts Jacksonville on Thursday night. The Bills travel to Minnesota for a Monday Night Football matchup on November 9. The Ravens will determine Huntley's availability on a short week, while Jackson returns to the sideline with his thumb in a splint.
